Literature Text

Stepping out of sync, rapidly
rapidly, marching lively through

the memories of yesterday's sex
and the moment of your birth,

to what you had for breakfast
last Sunday after the thriller

you watched the day before
that brought you nightmares.

How it goes, the parade of life,
from ground level, smelling the

mold of wet sod, hearing the
quick-step padding of a thousand

feet that show the way out of
the silted lake where one of your

cousins drowned during that summer
of skinny-dipping far from town.
:icongliitchmonth:

I stumbled on a new group where the members have been playing out an experiment this month of April as a kind of NaPoWriMo, called NaPoGliiMo.  I was instantly intrigued because of the edgy entries from the ones in the group who are participating.  Stay tuned to see if I can run with the pack, even if I do it with a limp. (update: I made it all the way!)

The rule of thumb for interpreting the themes if you're going to do a piece for the group, there really is no rule.  They tell everyone to go with how you, the writer, interprets them.  And I say that goes for the readers, too.  So, I've dedicated this piece with one of the gliitchmonth's group themes for April: "memories are centipedes".

15.04.2015 - Words on Wednesday IXWelcome back to a much, much, MUCH belated edition of my (nearly abandoned) feature series, Words on Wednesday. This week's feature was (as always) hard to select, due to so many beautiful pieces to choose from, and due to the fact that I have nearly 3 months worth of poetry to choose from! I've stuck to the past few few weeks, however, as NaPoWriMo is giving me a wealth of incredible literature to hurl love at.
How it works: There are seven days in a week, so usually I share with you seven pieces of featured literature! However, this week, as it's been such a long time and as there is SUCH a large amount of freaking fantastic work out there, I'm sharing fourteen pieces with you today. Aren't you lucky! Or in for a long read. Below the thumb, you will see a beautiful quote from within the featured piece.
Here we go! In no particular order, here are fourteen incredible pieces of literature that you should all

That was a blunt ending, with a depressing end message, of what I feel (overall) is a good poem. Its actually well written, and I think you've done a good job with it :) Well done. Keep writing, and keep posting.
