HaikuWriMo 2009, Feb 1-28 by `jade-pandora:iconjade-pandora:

1
the cheshire cat's
grin-
crescent moon

2
serenading
from a rusted whirligig-
the last cricket

3
kite bones-
autumn still
in the trees

4
morning riot
bursting from the eaves-
pigeons!

5
holding my breath,
the warm air
of rain threatens

6
a man's hand
fingers curled in death-
dried leaves

7
thunderclap!
a cat panics
across the roof

night deluge-
come morning
shriveled worms

8
windows
shutting out the chill-
moonlight spills in

9
ice age-
my feet against his

10
after a downpour-
detour sign
pointing home

11
zen dawn-
ducks
contemplating puddles

12
frozen moon-
dogs cruise the street
in a wake of steam

13
bitter night-
sweet stench of smoke

14
scorched earth-
sandbagging
row on row in the rain

15
nude
awaiting the brush-
clay pots

16
waking   from a   long sleep
a dusting of snow

17
storm watch at dusk-
the north-bound plane
swallowed whole

18
fingers in my food-
a pagan under
the solstice moon

19
a path of smooth stones
leading me
to a house no more

20
songbird
hidden behind the trellis-
he sounds new

21
Orion
piercing me through-
winter cosmos

22
Venus-
the diamond on her ring

23
taking the air
squirrels  hurl  insults

24
engaging-
a gold ring
in the tattoo parlor

25
winter morning,
a tramp's pockets
slowly empty of rain

26
at the hospital
overcast skies
still I see the sun

27
a sliver of nakedness
peeking through-
moon beckons

28
my eyes
fixed on one page
Tennessee Williams

29
the same moon
you and I
the same moon

Once you understand the basic concept, it's really quite wonderful. This will be ongoing throughout all of February. I started a few hours ahead for the people who are in other timezones where it's already the first. :)

I saw that same moon! It's amazing how diverse images can come from the same sight.

I love how your piece brings the image so immediately to mind. A beautiful way to start the WriMo, Jade!

Always look on the bright side... there's more light there and it's easier to find stuff.
:iconmattiello:
I'll have mine up tomorrow! :D Great job, btw. I love it.
