Literature Text

You've drawn me into your purity
corrupting your harbors until
only I remain pure,
a bitter truth in disbelief

sub-shadows blurring
become intolerant, the more
voracious your midnight
despite the pleasuring reef.

There's always more that must be
said, too numb and never sure,
intoxicating your devotion,
and denial of this grief.

To realize all delusions
while waiting for the answers
that you will never know
from the inhalations of my leaf.
a metaphor

i really enjoyed the soft convolution of your analogy, especially in the first stanza. you find a delicate balance between crushing absolutes and clever abstractions, which i find rather delightfully accurate, in terms of the effects of "kannabis" ;) . i also rather like the lines "there's always more that must be said" and "the more voracious your midnights" which i find specially significant as meaningful allusions, tempting the reader to draw more personal symmetries. well done, Jade.
