climbing the first vertical
it comes to—
a snail on my shoe
2
leaves falling everywhere
I look, how easy it is
to let them go
3
I marvel at every
rose bush petal
holding fast in the wind
4
seed packets in a drawer—
dormant dreams of an herbal garden
come spring
5
sharp-edged clouds
cutting the moon in half
but not the piercing wind
6
still in bed—
winter scrubbing the remains
of autumn from the trees
7 (seen on local news today)
king tides—
waves scattering cliff side
spectators with sea foam and awe
8
how cold the night—
no sound of cricket or bird
yet his breath in slumber
9
late morning
pulling taut the bed sheet,
outline of my tortoiseshell comb
10
lace curtain patterns
from a kitchen breeze
fill the empty fruit bowl
11
chopping winter vegetables
for stew—
my thoughts of summer plums
12
reflection of my rouged lips
on the window sill
through a water glass
13
jelly-making day—
pomegranate halves, red
on half-read newspaper
14
freeze-dried strawberries
in a bowl of cornflakes
still, my delight for the seeds
15
Milky Way in deep winter—
his son's voice
no longer a child's

We Poets Are Frustrated...
We Poets Are Frustrated...
I am sure that you have all experienced this feeling:
A masterpiece eclipsed by the baying of a brat!
A raucous rhyme, so emotionally raw;
Shadowed by a child's melancholia...
Alone in the darkness, you lick your lips and growl.
Your anger, so evidently understandable; yet you forget your own abilities!
In despair, my dearest sibling, you have forgotten — yourself
Why fear an obstacle so easily overcome?
Why shred your works with such heavy tears?
Have you forgotten that we are the original craftsman?
Our tongues birthed as our chisels and axe!
We need only take these simple themes
And corrupt them with all
Literature
My Darkest Hour
My Darkest Hour
I've become lost
In my sundered reflection
I've finally crossed
The line of desperation
I sense something sinister
Something that is beyond cruel
My tears seem to hinder
Ready to break down soon
-
The darkness is always waiting
To rule / To conquer
To swallow / To devour
To return / To overpower
The shadows are always lurking
As I cry / As I weep
As I beg / As I plead
As I fall / As I grieve
The blinding fear is consuming
-
My anxiety-infected veins pour
I'm beyond weak
I don't want to be afraid anymore
Let me bleed
This is the only way out
A perfect exit for a coward
No longer am I bound
I couldn't survive my dark
Literature
A World Of Gray
A World Of Gray
The dull sun glares upon our society
On this meaningless morning of today
Reflecting each others hypocrisy
Transfixed on each others gaze
Think-headed and relaxed
Nonchalant and vexed
Practicing the art of being ungrateful
Portraying the act of an imbecile
-
Some say that it's just life's cycle
As they lie through convincing smiles
Feeding false information
Teaching faults from past generations
There's all different kinds of people
Who carry around different kinds of evil
My skin turns to stone! / My blood turns to ash!
My heart I disowned! / My sins drown in a mass!
My organs turn to dust! / My sight becomes colorless

During my keeping a year's journal for the Glory-Be-Project, the daily notes & bits of poetry I gather in its pages each day reveal the everyday of life activities, thoughts, & feelings. Many of my notes read like Japanese short form which I have written and posted in my dA gallery since 2007. It's because of this tendency that the majority of my journal might read as such, and the notes are easily transcribed as haiku & tanka mainly. Also, writing haiku isn't only about nature in its purest observations, but of how everything (including nature of course) impacts the poet. Haiku is the style of short form that can portray everything in the simplest of everyday ways. It's with this ideal that I have compiled more of my notes in this particular set -- all of them written over the time of a week, showing the passing of the days of the week, from morning to night, and night to day - with a variety of simple, everyday vignettes which include sleeping in, watching TV, out in the garden, preparing dinner, making jelly, and witnessing RetroZombie John's son Anthony's voice change practically overnight.
I've added a lovely preview piece featuring a photograph taken by Kelsi Nullibicity
who was so kind and gave me permission to use the image, which was then treated to look like a delicate watercolor, and finished with a font of an Asian feel, with a rich shade of color, and defined with thin, interior bordering to finish the effect by collaborating with the talented John RetroZombie who has always been able to translate my ideas & visions to perfection, and who's efforts made the finished image possible.
John, and Kelsi, my admiration and thanks to you both for your generosity!
I hope you will enjoy some of these everyday moments with me. <3
