His bare feet pad along the strand
of warm beach, on dazzling white sand,
kneeling now and then to gather shells
and take in a breeze of ocean smells.
Comes a moment when he isnt sure,
in the brightness of the sun
on an endless sea of azure,
and lifts a hand to shade his eyes
while he tries to discern a figure
that lies, supine, at the edge alone,
where the breakers fade and die.
Upon approaching he looks down
at a young woman, a mere girl
perhaps, by the look of her breasts,
and is mesmerized at the
tiny bubbles of foam that caress
a fishtail of aquamarine
where human limbs ought to be.
Transfixed by this feminine pearl,
he longs for the world that delivers
to him this creature of Mer.
And thus she meets his gaze with hers
while he cries, overwhelmed and grateful.
Like the pull of the tide when a
spent wave coils around his feet.
He knows, in his heart, she feels him
as her fingers, like slender seaweed
slip away, beckoning, "Come in... come in".

Your poem is wonderful, it is delicately written, like if you had been encarving some stylistic patterns upon a seashell, it feels so natural to me and it reminds me of who you are to me and what you mean in my life
It reminds me of the soothing music of the waves softly lying on the sand, of all this years in my life spent on the seashore, or sitting on the rocks, looking at the horizon, hoping for the unknown, hoping for something I thought would never come true and yet now that you are here, becomes a reason to believe in a brighter future, in clearer skies, and I can't help to find myself envisioning us together on sitting upon a rock, in Monte-Carlo, looking at the horizon & the city lights, while the day fades and the nights begin... it's autumn and a soft cold breeze pushes our warm-dressed bodies to snuggle in even closer.
I have found a woman who is an artist, who has extended my vision, who took my hand, held it and made me discover I could write, a lover that made me realize I am an adult man, and a tender friend who made me wish I will be a father one day.
For all of this I love you, my darling, and for many more reasons.
It is an honor to me to say this publically at your site, for all to be known.
I love you, mon coeur

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
i'm moved with all you've said, and i feel so much the same for you as you do for me.
This poem inparticular was so wonderful to write, and it too means alot to me. And when i say 'another world', i mean that in every sense one can imagine. You and i, we live in different worlds on the same planet, but we are so connected. The poem is about turning one's back on the familiar for the foreign, if that's what it takes.

As for the poem, yes i deliberately did the first stanza in fixed rhyme as a way to portray things going along in a normal sense before the 'sighting', and before everything changed. And then i do something that i recently found a term for!
i told Max i know have a term (made up by me so i don't know if it's an actual term for what i write or how i write), and i call it "wrap-around rythme". i got excited when it came to me because that's exactly my style in most cases. So when i do a fixed stanza, it conveys a pace, a mood. You yourself have recognized this on your own and pointed it out to me, to my delight btw.
And i bet i don't even need to explain what i mean by "wrap-around rythme". At least not to you because you have a keen perception and i really appreciate this. i'm unorthodox in how i mix things up too as you know now so well.
To be continued if you like... i must get to bed now!
