I can't quote a night's sky and do justice
to its secrets, yet sibling stars beckon,
they seem so close, pulling veils of modesty
off of each other
while I'm poised under an arc of silence,
its light tethering my gaze
even though time has snuffed them
long before I stood alone in their wake.

Yew tree moans when moon is high
Spirits gather hear their sigh
Graveyard wakes, short hours of bliss
Departed souls swirl in mist.
White phosphorus gleams at night
Glow not meant for human sight
Mourning for what used to be
Earth-bound shades nolonger free.
Their world changed face many times
Full of fear from grave they climb
Specters who have lost their place
Welcome destiny with grace.
Otherworld now their domain
Time has come and gone, no pain
Nightmares dead, no tears to weep
Spirits calm, undying sleep.

Older sister I look up to
My younger sister fair and fine
And you're more than a friend to me
My twin sister with diff'rent blood
We're seperated by the sea
But to you my heart does still spud
Sometimes I curse all of the miles
You and me thousands do divide
I want to witness all your smiles
Those which are born from deep inside
I cannot hold you when you cry
And I really wish that I could
Still a dreamer's mind does fly
And it'll be with you for good
And it brought this few lines to you
Written from deep within the heart
And each single word here is true

I have to say that this is quite the beautiful work. Amazing words, delicate in execution and deep in meaning. I love works like these that don't use extremely verbose expressions to pull off - what some artists think is - 'deep' poetry. I feel that the depth of writing is as deep as the reader feels it to be. And this was a very good example for it. The first 'stanza' starts off well and the ending one... well that is what makes this work beautiful to read.
