:bulletpurple: The audio is of me reciting my poem, "Universe":

For as long as the sun shines upon the earth,
This orb that turns slowly beneath my feet,
How many suns will set 'til I gaze upon your face.

For as long as it continues to give birth
To the seasons, to renew while death retreats,
How many seasons will die 'til the sight of you makes my heart race.

For as long as the moon reflects its phases within me,
Stirring my passions by its eternal ebb and flow,
How many moons will fade 'til I reach thee.

For as long as it takes until I know,
The universe has no boundaries and no center,
Its darkness hides answers I shall never find.

For the love I have has no beginning,
No end to leave behind, no way to enter
Where the universe has no boundaries and no center.

This is one of the most beautiful love poems I have ever read or heard. At least I imagine this is a love poem, whether to a person or to the Universe itself. The flow is beautiful and melodic. And I love the way you read these! Every time I have to read my own work out loud, I find myself rushing through it, but you savor every last word and draw it out perfectly!

This is an experience indeed ...kinda trippy one. ;) Only I felt that 'thee' was sort of out of place there, maybe it's just me

This is rather neat I must say, taking your poem and encorporating music and a background with the words using flash. The only thing I'd do differently is make the background more dynamic and add some buttons to stop, pause, and replay. Maybe even animated text as the words are spoken, would take it to a level beyond great. The poem itself is rather lovely as well, comparing the phases of passion and emotion to the phases of the moon and your love and devotion to the universe in scope and magnitude. Very beautiful, along with the longing feeling created through your repetition "How many moons will fade 'til I reach thee." =D

Why thank you so much for letting me know your thoughts on this collaborative piece.

Before V6 was replaced with V7, you used to be able to see the flash video and read the poem at the same time, but now it's all changed. This was Elan's and my first attempt at something like this, so it's quite simple.

You're welcome. Too bad I didn't chance a glimpse of the earlier one before the version change. Would be a good comparison between the two. And for a first go, even simple, it's still a good piece.

I love the thought of you coming to visit me in this way. Perhaps you might also like to hear the sister piece to this one, "Temple of Isis" [link] though the first one still seems to be the most appealing to many.

I look forward to your return anytime.

Wow. Now I know what I'll arm myself with to fight insomnia. Your voice, combined with the echo effect and the repetition of words and sounds built into the poem is completely hypnotizing.

I'm sure that all that has been said before in the last dozen pages, but I wouldn't be content without adding my thoughts to the general consensus. Thank you so much for sharing this with me.

So is this your first recording or your first spoken word? You sound experienced at spoken word.

The recording is top notch too. That is what I am lacking, quality recordings.

Well I have to put a watch on you.

Love,

db

PS I just put a Johnny Cash Spoken word piece on my website today.

I'm familiar with recording my voice and reciting my poetry. In fact, if I sound experienced to you, it might be because I write & recite my own work. I understand where to take the words, and I'm familiar with the strengths & weaknesses of my voice.

I thank you for your appreciation of this piece. We've since done a second collaboration called "Temple of Isis" which can be seen and heard here [link] Perhaps you will let us know what you think of how that one turned out also.

Blessings! :frail:
