This is my favorite time of year, when Autumn takes hold as Summer dies, and spirits rise up to spin their tricks of mischief.

So while RetroZombie gets our place ready for wee goblins to decend upon us, and in tribute to everything that goes bump in the night while the moon grows bright, here is a mix of tasty treat features that I hope you will enjoy (no spiders, Johnny, I promise!):

3am Hallows Eve3am on Hallows Eve
Time for sins and wicked deeds
Witches, werewolves, goblins too
All the better to frighten you
3am, time to rise
Put on your mask, wear your disguise
Dance in the shadows of the pale moon light
Welcome the sting of a vampires bite
3am, it's time for fun
The witching hour has just begun
Jack-o-lanterns light the night
Catching mischief in their sight
3am, the witches fly
You can run but you can't hide
Demons walk the street tonight
Snatching your soul away from sight
3am, Halloween has come
The wicked fun has finally begun
Tell the children the warnings they must heed
Or else they will surely bleed
3am on Hallows Eve
Time for sins and wicked deeds
Lock your doors and hide within
Tonight, everywhere, evil will win
SamhainWe’ve gathered round the sacred fire
Our loved and lost to honor there
In silence we will all join hands
And journey ‘cross the burning lands
To find our mothers, friends and sons
We’ll honor each and every one
We’ll share with them our hopes and dreams
And tell them happy little things
You’ll witness such a wondrous sight
We’ll sing and laugh, they’ll be no fright
Our night will end with love and mirth
As we must travel back toward earth
From North to East and South to West
Our journey home now manifest.
With the dead we’ve spent this night
Not in darkness but in light
Twelve more moons will pass and then
We’ll gather to honor them again!
SamhainThe shadows dancing upon the pond,
Their lights like floating embers;
The message has come at last,
Like it has for many winters.
The flames are burning deep within,
Their ashes of days long past;
The harvest has finally come,
To free us all at last.
The cleansing purity of it all,
The spirits so nearby too;
With such a desperate call,
We know what we will do.
The hour is late and here we are,
The cards to show our fate;
Samhain has come yet again,
We must not let it wait.
